Ole Miss had some good DBs under Freeze, but no Ole Miss fans brag about “DB prowess.” We’ve had terrible secondaries the past few years.

This is a garbage take.

I have literally never heard any Ole Miss fan brag about their DB prowess.

That team hasn't had a decent defensive backfield since 2014. The last 5 years outside of a couple of years right around the 50th overall mark, they have been in the 100s in overall pass defense.

I thought the whole landshark thing was originally about the DB's ability to get turnovers, no? Like another term for ball hawk.

I'm not a grammar Nazi, but, God, I hope some of the things you type are on purpose.

The Landshark name was started by a Tony Fein (RIP), as that is what his team was nicknamed when he served in Iraq. After he died, the Landshark nickname was kept around out of respect to him.

I did not know this, thanks. Was he killed in Iraq?
