3 SEC Teams in the Playoffs in 2019?

Thought occurred to me today that there could be 3 SEC teams in the semi-finals this year (OK, not likely, but could be). If that were to happen, who do you think they would be? And how would it play out in the SECCG?

No. You’re only going to see more than one SEC team in the scenario we saw it in 2018. An SEC Champion, and a one loss team that missed out on the championship game. There won’t be any other scenario. Any time we saw the the committee put two teams from the same division in the playoff in weeks that didn’t matter, it’s just to convince schmucks that it’s possible at the end, even though it’s not.

And the day dreaming of LSU fans is hilarious. They know that at the very best they are the third best team in the SEC(even this is delusional, clearly A&M, Alabama and Georgia are the class of the conference) so they honestly think that they’ll still make it in the playoff.
Sorry swamp kittens, Ed Orgeron is not going to win anything at LSU.
74-72.

After the blackeye Clemson game the sec last year, the sec would be lucky to get 2 in.

No.
And no LSU isn’t getting in.

12-0 bama and uga would have a good shot too.

quote:well, there's the Fighting Gamecocks and their collision course with an inevitable 13-0 record based on their tough schedule. I suppose Kentucky would garner a bid at 11-1 with their only loss to USC. Texas A&M would be a stretch with 2 losses - both to the Fighting Gamecocks (College Station & Atlanta) - but ya never know.
If that were to happen, who do you think they would be?

quote:Don’t think it’s possible for an 12-0 SEC team to make the playoffs. If a team is 12-0 (or 11-0 with a canceled game), then they would be in the SEC Championship, which would make them the SEC Champ or an 1 loss team

I could see LSU, A&M and Georgia all skating in this year

I'm still trying to think of the convoluted scenario in which this could even remotely happen.

I purposely did not offer the scenario that I think could produce 3 SEC teams in the playoffs until seeing what some posters had to say. Remember, I said it is unlikely, but suppose...
Georgia goes undefeated and wins the SECCG. They would be in. Suppose ATM goes undefeated in league play and loses to Georgia in SECCG. And Bama goes 11-1 in league play, but loses West to ATM. What if Big 12, Big 10, and Pac 12 do not produce an 11-1 team? Possible, not likely, but it could happen. those three SEC teams are good enough to have it play out as I suggest above.
