It’s funny because they used to be the best. Then Kendall Rogers and Aaron Fitt left for D1.

All you can do at this point is hope that the hitting or pitching stays the same or gets better once conference play does.

I'll have to say though, based on pretty weak competition, I'm very very impressed with the lsu team so far.

The pitching is obviously fantastic like everyone knew it would be ,weve got two guys that have been unhittable when there on throughout their careers in 98mph Jaden hill and landon marceaux. Then we have an all American closer in fontenot.
They have been better then advertised, last I saw ,they have both pitched 2 or i think 3 games and both have 0.00 eras then our 3 and 4 guys are good as well, not to mention a good freshman in blake money.

We started smashing the ball too with like 15 homeruns so far and have the best fielding 1baseman I've ever seen in college.

Just hope they keep it up against sec opponents. We did play ull and la tech who are tournament teams.

Looks like the sec is freaking loaded though.

I saw a guy from state has hit 8 Homer's already

So are there any schools in the sec that arent any good at all and may miss the tournament all together.

I know it's just ooc but I'm asking based on results so far and the eye test along with a little pre season evaluation

So it looks like missouri is the only team that's not ranked in at least one poll

Kinda surprised we're #1 in Collegiate Baseball, but I'll take it. Congrats to Georgia for breaking into the top 5!

D1Baseball and BaseballAmerica latched onto the idea that we aren’t very good this year because Hancock and Wilcox are gone and they’re not going to give up on that position until we win some conference games. I don’t necessarily blame them for that take but they have that tendency, to set preseason expectations for teams (both good and bad) and only come off them 1-2 months into the season when the evidence can’t be refuted.
