Remember when we were sad about not getting Surtain?

It’s ok, LSU is linebacker university.

LSU has great DBs coming back but I'm pretty sure you'd still be happy to have Surtain opposite Stingley. He's a very good player.

People keep saying that Florida dbs are sucking in the league. Check the 2019 INT leaders. Joe Haden. 5 ints Janoris Jenkins (of course not counted) 5 ints Quinton Dunbar 4 ints (was not a DB while at FL so not counted) NFL leader had 6 FYI. Oh and Chauncy Gardner first team all rookie DB
That’s cool and all but they also not counting Patrick Peterson, Honey Badger, Mo Claiborne, Eric Reid etc....
Majority of the Gators listed that got this #1 spot completely suck arse. And the interception stat doesn’t prove that a corner Is great.

You realize Alabama was not #1 or even #1 in the SEC per this, correct?
It's a series of articles, the first of which was shared yesterday (LB). For whatever reason this one seemed to get a whole lot more panties in a wad than that one did.

The real OG DB’s started getting drafted out of LSU in the early 2000’s. Why they chose only the last 8 years?

Congrats to Florida being so high. When Ohio State has two guys drafted in the first round this year and LSU’s guy slips to second round because of his drug test issue, I knew we were screwed.
That, and the Giants wasting first rounder pick on Eli Apple in 5 rounds too high.

In the next draft LSU will have at least another FOUR dbs chosen- one of whom is a generational talent. So they have quantity, but more importantly Quality. It’s a continual pipeline of super elite players like Peterson , Matthieu , White, Jackson and Adams who are among the best at their position . Guys that are a top 4/5 player on their NFL team. Not just bodies on the roster.
And I mean UF has three DBs on the 2021 radar (Wilson, Davis, Stewart), with Elam likely being a first-rounder in 2022 as well.

Our recent CBs have been busts, no real way to get around that. Hargreaves and Tabor were huge busts.
Safeties have been fine, though. Neal was a pro bowler but has torn his ACL and Achilles in the past two years -- hard to be too critical of him. Maye is a very good player, and Gardner was a steal for the Saints.
Hopefully Henderson, Wilson, and Elam can change the narrative regarding CBs over the next few years
