Why not? It works for Auburn fans during the 15 to 20 year stretches between the 2 or 3 historically great 2 year basketball runs y'all have had the last 60 years of your program's history. Granted, your program is different under BP but it your history is what it is. I can count on one hand the number of times at any given moment my Auburn friends have given the slightest s### about basketball in the 40 years prior to 2019 that I've been alive.
As for Alabama basketball, the absolute ceiling for this year's team is to get into the tourney as a 7 or 8 seed, get hot from outside and win a 7/10 or 8/9 NCAA tourney 1st round game, and then look respectable in a loss to a #1 or #2 seed in the 2nd round. The Gonzaga and Houston wins were clearly flukes at this point.
On the other hand, anything less than a Final 4 for this year's Auburn team would be a huge letdown

A national title game loss and 3-4 record with a win against a Top 15 basketball team. Not good at all but we go 1-2 in the next three games vs #4 Baylor, @ #1 Auburn, and #14 Kentucky I can live with it. Do that and we're on pace for a #8 or #9 seed in the Big Dance. I'll take it at this point.
