Stoop has overachieved with a really consistent program

He is arguably our best coach since Bear Bryant. He is only behind Bryant in number of wins and he's been here for 8 years (pretty long in this day and age).

Raiding Ohio has been insanely beneficial to the program

Tough choice, right? You could either go with the guy who was the worst 3rd down QB in the SEC last year with a record of 1-2!

OR

You could go with the checkdown artist with one of the lowest YPA in the SEC last year!

What a great problem to have!

You know it's rough when your talking point about your quarterback is his vertical and shuttle time.

This is dumb and you should feel bad.

Watson, Jackson, Murray, Allen, Wilson, Mahomes - what do they have in common? Elite NFL QBs and they can run like the MF wind.

I do expect to see a lot more 2TE sets with Coen. But I think based on how I've taken Stoops and Vince's comments (Coen hasn't really said much beyond broad coachspeak generalities in local media) we're maintaining that power run identity. We aren't about to sling it around the yard like the Blue Deuce is back under center againm

Yea, that makes sense. I think if Coen can coach (which based on his time with the Rams I'd assume he's at least pretty competent) that offense is a good fit for Stoops program. It isn't some sort of air raid, so it still fits with Stoops defensive, control the game philosophy.....but is also isn't one dimensional.

Kentucky brass let him build a system and create a legit program culture and once he did he's consistently competed. And it seems each recruiting class gets a little better, signs a few more upper echelon guys and gets the talent level a bit higher.

It's a shame Georgia didn't have "the checkdown artist with one of the lowest YPA in the SEC last year!"

Perhaps they wouldn't have gotten their shite pushed in by Florida if they would've.

kind of silly, imo, to compare the guy yet with Justin Fields, in any way

At A&M, we don't grab dicks with two fingers like that. We manhandle that shite with the whole fist.

1. That's the SECN that made that comparison.
2. Why is it silly if they're clearly similar in size and athletic ability. No one said King was going to be Justin Fields. But you look at traits of similar people to project.

That said I would watch out for Eli. He actually fits the Jimbo ideal even better than King physique wise but I don't know that he can overtake him.

Yeah, everything I've read and listening to Jimbo talk, Eli was way behind King/Calzada. I'd be shocked if it's not King.

We're still going to be a run first power kind of team. CRod is a beast and we are going tonuse him early and often

With the addition of Wan'Dale and Ali coming back, I fully expect to see the playbook open up as long as we can find a consistent passer in our QB.

I like the idea of the 2 TE sets, but keep in mind that Upshaw is out for the season, so we'll be a little thin there
