2019’s Sec coaching search vs 2020

Last year 4 programs (Arkansas, Miss St, Ole Miss, Mizzu) all had searches that relatively exciting searches that ended up with respectable hires imo.
Ark- got an O-Line coach whose passion for the job makes you have to love the guy, not to mention basically flipped the trajectory of Arkansas
Miss St- got Leach (who usually has a slow start) but definitely made an impact
Ole Miss- got Kiffen who literally injected the program with fentanyl the way the offense lights up the board
Mizzu- IMO coach should have gotten Sec Coach of the Year
Said all that to say the Auburn, Vandy and especially the SoCarolina results just feel like disasters.
Harsin doesn’t seem like he’d be able to match Gus’ best years
Lea coaches at vandy ...
Beamer seems to be over his head
(Edit: but this I’m more irrelevant than you game between So Carolina and Auburn is fun)

This is dumb. Everyone made fun of Arkansas' hire until he had a chance to prove himself. Why not give the new guys a chance?

Did I miss something? To whom has he proved himself?

I made fun of the hire til I saw the assistants, then I said maybe Pitboss is up to something. Beamer hasn’t made a splash hire ...

Initially the AU hiring was questionable but he's assembling a pretty good staff to help him so I'd give it a B possibly a B+ hire at the moment

Everyone made fun of our nerd hire.
But that nerd hire was fricking perfect.

Just for note for Arkansas to win any SEC games on an all SEC schedule is nothing but brilliant.
Mizzu and Ole Miss showed their programs had life with major issues such as no one on defense at ole miss and lack of talent at Mizzu.
Leach’s air raid will improve once he gets talent, wasn’t a 3rd string QB playing at one time? Didn’t their best player RB Hill opt out?
Didn’t Auburn lose to S Car??? js

Arkansas won 3 SEC games in one season when it had gone winless in back to back seasons. This was a win for the program and Pittman.
