So, for AU to win the CFP, they would have had to get by undefeated UCF, then Oklahoma, then play Alabama for the second time - and if they won all of those, the odds would have been that they would have to either play Clemson for the SECOND time or play UGa a THIRD time for the championship.
Why not just start the season with the first round of the playoffs, and eliminate the regular season all together? Makes about as much sense

And probably had the same outcome barring major injuries in the extra two games.

2 3 loss teams would've made it last year.

Is that what the format will be? I don’t realize there would be byes involved

Should put the bowl games those teams went to(outside the top4) in there to compare/see what's changing.

Shouldn’t the 1 and 4 seeds be matched up and the 2 and 3 seeds?

UCF beat Auburn that year. Lol

Why is 1 and 3 and 2 and 4 on the same side?

Congratulations to Troy for knocking LSU out of the playoffs.

That’s not correct.. the 1 and 4 sees would be set to play in the semis., and the 2 and 3 would be in the other.

No. Their proposed rules would match teams based on the rankings/seeding process established...if two teams meet again in the playoffs, so be it. No flip-flopping to avoid it, they said.

I thought top 5 will be conference champs, is that correct?
Posted on 6/10/21 at 8:22 pm to hnds2th
No .. they will rank the teams as normal. Then the top 4 Conf champs gets byes.. if it’s 1-4 then fine, but if the 4th cc is #5 then it gets the 4th spot and the 4th ranked moves down a spot.. the 5th and 6th Conf champ stay where they are , whether it’s actually 5 & 6. Or 11. & 12

Alabama getting a bye and not even playing in the conference title
