Talk about a game that can completely turn around a season. Going into this game, over the previous two weeks, Alabama had lost to Ole Miss and squeaked by a mediocre Arkansas team. Alabama was facing the fourth best offense in terms of yardage in all of college football. In the first half, Alabama completely crushed the Aggies, racing out to a 45-0 halftime lead. The yardage at the break? 449-50. The final score was 59-0.

I remember watching that game and thinking this is one of the greatest beat downs I've seen on the college level.

That was pretty amazing to watch. Any team getting beat by 50+ should hang it up.

I have no recollection of this game or anything at all about it. It didn't happen. Thanks.

Epic beat down. Sumlin should have just curled into the fetal position

Proving once again that if you kick a sooner in the balls you break the nose of a poor horn fan

Remember not being terribly surprised by this result. Maybe I didn't expect it to be 45-0 at half, but A&M had just gotten blown out by State and Ole Miss in consecutive weeks, I didn't think they had a prayer of winning in Tuscaloosa.

Was that when they had Kenny Trill?

Gotta love how the vast majority of the A&M highlights are punts.

That game could easily have ended 80-0.

A&M is used to getting absolutely destroyed on national television.

A unique tradition in college football.

Lol, wut?

First, this response of yours was to a photo of A&M LOSING to Oklahoma by 77 points in the third quarter... The only balls kicked in where Francione's that day.

Second, most Texas fans would root for A&M once a season when they were in the Big 12, and that was against Oklahoma. Don't get it twisted, we laughed at you when the aggies completely and utterly embarrassed themselves on national tv (which against OU was common), but we still wanted you to beat our only conference contender since A&M sure as shite was never going to be one

I watched the first quarter of that game and changed the channel. I could not stand watching Bama win another game.

I remember thinking that maybe Sumlin's swaggy chill-farm approach was not really motivating our players.

That season had such great expectations. It started with completely blowing out #9 South Carolina in their house. It ended with Kenny Hill falling asleep drunk outside a bar and eventually transferring and us having to rush Kyle Allen into service as a true freshman.

Strangely, we managed to beat a #3 ranked Auburn team in Jordan-Hare. That was also the time that the Refs failed to call an obvious neutral zone infraction by LSU and Kyle Allen threw a pick to end that game.

Crap season all around.

In more ways than one. Kenny Hill never took another snap at A&M after that game and Kevin Sumlin never recovered.
