Both won every SEC series, and both lost home Super Regionals. It sucks.
Hope Arkansas fans get the joy of national title soon.

We had been running out of steam for anyone closely watching for a few weeks so while disappointing not unthinkable. also werent done many favors with our draw(4 Top 20 teams in our Super).
i went into it thinking we had a good shot but thought Vandy would ultimately have the best shot to win it all given pitching. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way

You are correct. We've seen our last best chance at a natty with DVH.

Hogs had incredible year
Baseball is a cruel sport
Very unforgiving
But that's what makes it so fun to watch and follow
Unlike football their is parity in baseball and to a lesser extent in basketball
Probably left Kopps in one batter too long but that's baseball as good as he's been this year
Both Hogs and Ole Miss felt the sting of losing pitchers like Pallete and Hoglund and pitching is the key and it would have impacted both teams in Omaha, Conner Noland might have helped as well had been able to round into form
Credit NC State, not many teams can get off the mat the way they did after losing that first game and playing in that environment but they did

Our 2018 team that nearly won it all lost five series in SEC play. A dominant regular season really doesn't mean anything. I'd rather have a good season and get hot at the right time.
All we can do is keep recruiting and hope to break through one of these years. Just frustrating to see teams that pour way less resources, facilities and fan support toward baseball advance further though, much like basketball.

As people pointed out, time after time, we were overdue for that one WTF series where everything fell apart. Folks have been saying that on here for weeks... and they were right. We were due I fear.
Ah well, best of luck to the rest of the SEC.

SO what do you do? Fire him? Hire Tony V?

Yeah - that was a tough pull. Almost could say Ark was penalized for being #1 seed.
That NC state team is no joke. Think they started ACC play at 1-8 (sounds familiar to me...) and ended up with the 2nd best record in ACC ( doesn't sound familiar to me...). And the ACC is no slouch in college baseball. I really thought this was Arkie's year. I know the feeling and it stings even worse when you have a team that has done as well as Ark did darning the season to date. -hell, I even started to allow myself to think we had a chance against Tenn - just seemed fitting - underdog, last effort for the retiring coach, of course logically everyone knew it was a longshot - but that what require sanity - and I'm an LSU fan - so obviously that's not in my skill set.

No way are they going to fire him. I'm just hoping he chooses to retire before the program regresses.

He is. Don’t let a few unhappy fans the day after a breakup make you think different.

DVH is looking at his twilight years. His best years are behind him.

Same here. I think he retires soon and not let the program slide.

Always sickening to see fans jump on and back off the bandwagon over and over again. Just stay off if you can't handle the highs and lows.

I never thought this was the year. If Arkansas didn't have so many issues with pitching then maybe.

Got curious and looked him up - he's 60, so you would think he is not totally in the about to retire book yet - but guess that age is diff for diff folks.
Did not realize or forgot - he was coach at Nebraska when they made CWS couple of years. I think in total he's brought a team 8 times. Arkie fans - what seems to be his barrier or shortcomings to going the full distance?

Dave is 61 and at an age where most people think a bout retirement or have done so.
