One of the dumber quotes out there

Sure it is. It's not as if professional players and coaches don't say this all the time.

AU had a 20 point lead against UGA with 12 to go in the game. Was it luck UGA came back and took the lead ?

Players and coaches saying stupid things makes them smart? No. Still dumb.

Disagree. Saban was doing what any other coach would do with one second left in a tie ball game.

Saban saw us change personel and put a return guy in. He didn't counter it.

Kick 6 was great coaching by Malzahn and terrible coaching by Saban. My local hardware store guy played football at Ferrum College. He told me even they knew on long field goals you had to put speed on the field in case of return.

Ok buddy. Not every field goal is kicked directly at a defender waiting in the end zone.

Where the hell would you expect to kick the field goal kick to?

Malzhan put a kick returner in on purpose. He wasn't there initially.

Even if it wasn't kicked directly to him, he had plenty of time to adjust to where the ball was kicked just like any other kick return.

Auburn was just good that got breaks just like any other team. They were just a grand spectacle.

Gotta love the gift of hindsight.

No, he just trusted Ellis Johnson. Big mistake.

Gus’ offense always goes into a shell. It’s his thing.

If a 57 yard field goal is unblocked at the LOS and isn’t long enough to carry through the back of the end zone then there’s solid chance it’s going to returned. Outside of a couple of players who had a legitimate shot to block the kick you could tell the players were told to set up the return. That isn’t luck

This past year’s ND team wasn’t an all timer or anything, but it’s not like Alabama did any better against Clemson than they did

Gonna have to go with either 2011 or 2017 Bama. Backdoored their way into the championship game.

Honorable mention to 2007 LSU.

luckiest

Only one team I know that got lucky when a crucial punt hits a camera cable ADDING 25 yards or more of field position to play.

Now, that is luck, everything else could be argued that it was skill.

No we may have been the luckiest of all time

You could of put the 2013 MSU game in there as well. Without Marshall to Marcus Davis on 4th and long neither big play to end the season would have been as big.

And anyone who says the miricle at JH or the kick6 werent lucky as hell are lying...or selling something. We were lucky AF on both accounts. But as someone else said, if Aaron Murry wasnt just handed a TD that wasnt a TD the prayer at JH wouldnt have been required.

The luck part of the kick 6 game was the 2 penalties called on Bama that would have sealed the game and the no call on illegal man downfield on aubs last td. There was no way Bama was leaving with a win that day.
They won the state game on the same no call.

Peculiar thing is, the same crew called aub and Texas a&m that same season. I remember a pretty blatant no call on the last play of that game that would have put a&m in fg range.
However, breaks are part of it.
