The Crimson Tide welcomed Missouri into the SEC by unleashing two 100-yard rushers (Lacy and Yeldon) en route to a 42-10 victory in Columbia.

That game was almost unfair. Was waiting out the lightning storm under the stands and overheard a lady walking out say my God, what a Football team. Have never seen most of a crowd leave at halftime like that.

It was the best team that's been in Columbia since possibly 1983

Wasn’t this game about some trash talking “Alabama plays old man football” vs “Alabama plays grown man football” debate?

Alabama won the national championship that year and we went 5-7. The result of the game shouldn’t have been that surprising

I was also at the game. Bama traveled really well. I left at halftime because I was cold and tired of sitting in a monsoon while watching my football team getting waxed. I think we were down something like 28-0 at halftime. I’ve never been to a Mizzou football game where our team was so badly outmatched. I remember a huge 6’5 285 lbs Bama LB picked up our little 5’6 RB and flipped him upside down throwing his arse to the ground head first. That pretty much summed up what it was like at the line of scrimmage for our players. I think the Bama player got a flag for it and Saban made him write and apology for it.

This is also before I was at Mizzou.

Most embarrassing part is UGA let them win the East 2 years in a row

Did 1995 or 1997 Nebraska not play in Columbia?

Absent the flea kicker, Mizzou beats Nebraska in '97. Teams weren't that far off. In 2012 the two teams didn't look like they were playing the same game.

I still maintain that Saban left him in the game right after to allow him to get the retaliation he had coming his way. Pretty sure he was triple teamed the next three plays and was lit up pretty good.
