a just for fun post. There was a thread earlier that mentioned Tennessee making the SECCG and it segued into the craziness of that year.
#2 teams that season going by the AP poll:
LSU, USC, California, South Florida, Boston College, Oregon, Kansas, West Virginia, Georgia (finished #2)
Top 3 stunners for me that season:
Stanford’s major upset based on point spread over #2 USC
Appalachian State shocking #5 Michigan in Ann Arbor
and associating the words “NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IMPLICATIONS” with the Border War between #2 Kansas vs. #4 Missouri, and the winner goes to #1 into conference championship Saturday.
I want there to be another 2007-like season!

Best college football season I have witnessed. Kansas was tanked number 1 at one point correct?

I feel like young kids now probably don't realize just how bad Stanford was for the decade and a half prior to 2007. They won't understand how big of an upset the Stanford USC game really was.

A fricking 2 loss LSU team coached by Les Miles winning the national championship was the perfect fit to end such an insane season.

No. They got to #2.
Mizzou was #1 going into the last weekend of the season and only had to beat OU.
