I think Live Oaks is the best tailgate alternative, if that's something you're looking for

I’m hearing Sky Bar. We’re talking off now Houston to Atlanta and driving down

Coming from someone who graduated 2 years ago. . .
1. Skybar - it's going to be packed but this bar is huge and where most of the crowd will be.
2. 1716 - a much, much smaller bar but one of the better ones
3. Live Oaks - outdoor bar/restaurant. smaller than the above two. They have great food.
4. Moes BBQ - good BBQ and it's become one of the better bars in Auburn.
All of these are within 2-5 minutes walking distance of each other Downtown.

Go to Toomer's and get a lemonade. Take a sip and then spit it out because it's too sweet.
Nice bar scene there. Nobody's gonna give you any trouble.

Go to Tuscaloosa and watch the game at a pub. Auburn is a cess pool.

Sky Bar, partly by default, has become the only must-go bar in Auburn. Not to say it's not good, it is, but the alternatives have also gone defunct.
I mentioned Live Oaks because it's easy for out of town people to eat/drink/watch other games at if you don't have a tailgate to go to. If we're going down for a game but not making a full day out of it Live Oaks is most often where we'll go before the game. It's got a big patio and can often handle bigger groups.
But tonight and tomorrow night I'd definitely try and go to Sky Bar.
