Bill C says so...
BillC exposes the truth about 1980 UGA
It's pathetic that Dawg fans are still living off that joke of a national title team.

That said, while I marvel at how mediocre this Georgia team may have been, I also marvel at the season the Dawgs had. There's a reason they're ending up in my book. Herschel Walker ran over Bill Bates, and UGA beat Tennessee by 1. Scott Woerner returned a punt and an interception for touchdowns, and the Dawgs beat Clemson, 20-16. Walker was hurt against Ole Miss, so Carnie Norris and Buck Belue combined to rush for 250+ in a 28-21 win. Walker outrushed eventual Heisman winner George Rogers, 225-174, and Rogers lost a late fumble in a 13-10 UGA victory. Lindsay Scott's famous 92-yard catch and run beat Florida, 26-21. And Walker separated his shoulder against Notre Dame, then rushed for 150 yards anyway. Would Georgia have won two games in a College Football Playoff? Almost certainly not.

LSU won a natty off a loss to Arkansas. You tell me which is worse.

"Every dog has its day."
Apparently, they had theirs in 1980

If Georgia hadn't made all those good plays, they wouldn't have won those games and the national championship!

He's certainly entitled to his opinion, even if I don't know who the hell he is.

Who exactly is Bill C.?
Who's "living" off 1980?
UF and AU bring it up FAR more than UGA folks ever do.

2019 UF sucks, just like 2018 and 2017

Rattles off stories of improbable win after improbable win.
Says they would probably would not have won one more.
Journalisming.

Bill C is Bill Connelly... VERY sharp writer, S&P+ inventor (now just called the SP+ due to his recent move from SBNation to ESPN).
Ultimately, Bill is pretty accurate in his observations... but they don't support OP's title or claims really either.

I watched all those 1980 games. The OP is right. Overall, the team sucked. Buck Belue was a complete joke. Vince Dooley was never better than average.
Herschel Walker carried the team on his shoulders. Herschel was the ultimate freak of nature.

Undefeated season, when is the last time Florida accomplished that feat?
