They were the last teams to win 13+ games three years in a row...until last night.

LSU was the First Southern program to win a national championship in 1908
.
Alabama was the Last Southern program to win a national championship in 2017.

Only because the Yankee sportswriters robbed Vandy of the title in 1904. Dan McGugin's first year, took us to a 9-0 season while outscoring our opponents 474-4. We smashed MSU 61-0 and OM 69-0.

God, those were the good ol' days of CFB, back before the snotty upstarts like Bama and LSU and Auburn and Tennessee started cheating and getting all the players.
