Umm that’s just crazy!

What am I missing? First time I’ve seen kopps pitch and only throws 78 - 87 mph.

What makes him so elite besides his arm not falling off

He was still legit dealing DEEEPPP in that game. It was impressive, particularly keeping Nebraska off the board the last few innings to set up that rally.

He’s like 90-93. Towards the backend of the game he threw a ton of change ups, sinkers, off speed.

That sinker change up was 87

Those pitches you are talking about are diving at a late and insane rate. He mixes in a 93 mph fastball. He has great location.

His “cutter” is like Mariano Rivera. You know he’s throwing it, but you can’t hit it. It just moves too much and too late.

It's not even really a cutter, though. He calls it that, but it's basically a right-handed slider that doesn't dive as much, but it looks like a fastball to the hitter.

I was thinking that in the past. He must not feel pain and has unlimited stamina.

Bionic Kopps.

Proving that he can throw that many pitches in 3 games and still be dominate made him a lot of money tonight. The most common knock on him as far as MLB projection was that he wasn’t a prototypical closer. I think he proved he can be a starter or mid relief/closer with tonight’s performance

The guy knows his arm and its limits-- the study of how to do so, are what he got his degree in-- he's a biomedical engineering graduate.

He doesn't throw exceptionally hard, and focuses on repeatable mechanics-- something that has worked well for a great many historical pitching workhorses.

How did Kopps come out of nowhere to be this good this season? He went from a nobody to one of the best in the country overnight

Messing around in the bullpen and threw this cutter/gyro ball. He got it to work and the rest, as they say, is history
