I’m surprised that Auburn isn’t #1 in wins given that voodoo they have.

technically we scored all 5 points though. Their safety came on a holding call against a true freshmen Ryan Pugh in the endzone

So our luck has gotten steadily shittier as time goes on...

I didn't watch that game.(can't imagine why sound so exciting at 3-2), and I didn't know that a holding penalty in the end zone gives your opponent a safety. I have never seen that before that I can recall. Makes sense though.

1 point wins since 1992
Would you believe both were against the same team?
2006: Texas A&M 34, Oklahoma State 33 (Blocked the tying PAT in overtime)
2007: Texas A&M 24, Oklahoma State 23
1 point losses since 1992
2002: Texas Tech 48, Texas A&M 47 (missed extra point in the first overtime)
2004: Baylor 35, Texas A&M 34 (First loss to Baylor since 1984. Baylor went for two in their overtime)
2005: Clemson 25, Texas A&M 24 (Franchione doesn't know how to fricking count down TWO after scoring a touchdown late)
2006: Oklahoma 17, Texas A&M 16 (fricking "field goal Fran")
2006: Nebraska 28, Texas A&M 27 (Gutless Fran strikes again)
2009: Colorado 35, Texas A&M 34 (lost to a 3-win team)
2011: Oklahoma State 30, Texas A&M 29 (Score was a bit misleading as Dez Bryant took a safety as time expired, but it was the first of multiple 2nd half meltdowns)
2016: Ole Miss 29, Texas A&M 28 (Shea Patterson's debut)
2017: UCLA 45, Texas A&M 44 (everyone knows the story behind this game)
Can you imagine how much different those seasons would have been had those games gone the other way?
2002 Texas Tech game: This is what started the serious talks to fire R.C. Slocum
2004 Baylor game: That game prevented College Gameday from coming to College Station the following week. A&M would have been in the top 10 riding a 7-game winning streak and who knows, maybe Reggie McNeal doesn't get hurt and A&M wins out...
2005 Clemson game: This is the point in which we knew Franchione needed to be fired.
2006 Oklahoma State game: Wouldn't have made much of a difference. Fran would have still been fired in 2007.
2007 Oklahoma State game: No difference whatsoever. Fran was gone as soon as the "VIP Newsletter" scandal came out.
2009 Colorado game: Not much difference, but a 7-win regular season without a loss to a 2-win Colorado team might have given the team better momentum going into the bowl game.
2011 Oklahoma State game: This is what started the downward spiral. A&M wins that game and they probably don't lose to Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas State or t.u. They might even have given Oklahoma a better game (gave up 28 unanswered in the 3rd quarter)
2016 Ole Miss game: That was Sumlin's chance to salvage the 2016 season after Trevor Knight got hurt. There was absolutely no excuse for blowing a 21-6 lead in the 4th.
2017 UCLA game: Sumlin was basically fired after that epic choke.

One of our wins was the Cock Block in 06. Still the loudest I've ever heard it get in the Swamp.

What I get from these statistics is that even when we win we do so in a manner guaranteed to raise my blood pressure to "imminent stroke" levels.
