Why do I hate Auburn then? Please, tell me why since you seem to know so much regarding my cognitive tendencies

because auburn has kicked our arse for half of your football viewing life and if you grew up in the state then that adds to it as well. The rest of us vividly remember peyton manning going in dry and leading the band in rocky top and fulmer turning us in because he was outbid

How about South Carolina, & Who do they most love to beat?

Clemson Clemson and more Clemson

but SEC only UGA is by far the #1. SC and UGA have played more times than FSU-UF and is the only SEC team we played on a regular basis before our SEC days.

USC doesn't have a True SEC rival like some of the other SEC teams... (i.e AuburnVAlabama, OleMissVMiss State).

USC's rival is and always has been clempson from the acc.

If you ask most USC fans who they like beating the most in the SEC, the answer would be UGA. UGA's rival is Ga Tech, and their SEC rival is Florida though.

USC's permanent SEC opponent is Ark, but the distance b/w the schools/fan bases and arky grad's inability to get high paying jobs has diminished the conditions for rivalry b/w these two schools.

Now aTm will be USC's permanent cross division opponent, starting in 2014. Maybe we can kindle some competitive rivalry there, but I doubt it as the fan bases are still too far apart.

This. The hate that can go occur between one LSU fan and another is not matched by any of these "rivalries" that have been mentioned.

IRL, there are a few people I know that are such huge negatigers that I avoid them the entire season. In the offseason I refuse to discuss LSU football with them.

if aTm is looking to envelope into the "SEC Culture" and get an SEC rival, they really should start with Mizzou, as proximity, and history are already established.

I couldn't figure out why Mizzou and aTm weren't made cross division rivals.

We have no SEC rival, but we still hate Texas.

Historically, it's Ole Miss, then ATM.

We were the Bear's favorite whipping boy for about 30 years though, so there's some ancient hate there, but that doesn't make a rivalry. And it doesn't matter anymore.

Tulane used to be a big rival. They suck now. Well, they always sucked, but they REALLY suck now.

ETA: I realize most Ole Miss fans, and probably all ATM fans think more of their in-state rivals than they do us, but that doesn't diminish the history our programs share.

Proves the point I was trying to make in my last post. Let me guess, you grew up in Montgomery or in the Wiregrass part of the state?

A&M isn't looking for that.
We have rivals.
It's artificial & meaningless to manufacture new ones.

Tell that to every single team that plays LSU. You'd think LSU was their biggest game ever every year. We actually enjoy their hate. We have a proud tradition of hate.

Fair enough. Imagine being near the TN state line and having to deal with Junior and Lulu all the time.

I used to hate LSU, but the Georgia fan base has for some reason deteriorated. It used to be LSU people we dreaded having to deal with. Now Georgia people have replaced them as worst. I have no idea why, but it's become that way.
