Why do Democrats keep electing rich white guys?

I wish they would start electing non-whites and women more. I can respect people who directly are linked to the argument they are making, however rich white guys fighting for poor non-whites is lost on me.
They do not care for what they argue, they just want your vote to make them richer.

Democrats shove the "diversity" agenda down our throats daily. What's funny is that a Republican minority runs for public office, they're either "traitors" or "don't support their own best interests." How many times was Ben Carson called an "Uncle Tom" for being a Republican?

Hey let's elect a rich guy that is nothing like us and help get him richer?
Seems like they would say - let's elect one of own that grew up with our struggles and see what happens.
