The British Royal Navy admits: We're too small to stand up to Iran.

What a sad state of affairs, when the Naval Empire that triumphed at Trafalgar, held down the German U-boat swarm, and connected a trade network so vast that the Sun Never Set, cannot even face down a 3rd rate pirate fleet.
Press F to pay respects.

The Royal Navy is too small to counter the potential threat from Iran, the defence minister has admitted.
Tobias Ellwood told The Times: “The threats we’re facing are changing in front of us, the world is getting more complex. If we are wanting to continue to play this influential role on the international stage it will require further funding for our armed forces, not least the Royal Navy. Our Royal Navy is too small to manage our interests across the globe.”

The news comes after it emerged that Tehran had ignored warnings from a British warship against seizing a UK-flagged tanker in the Gulf. The Stena Impero and her 23-strong crew are being held by Iranian forces after they were taken on Friday while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Guardian says the British government is facing accusations it had “failed to sufficiently guard its shipping in the Gulf.”

They are apparently making some headway on knife confiscation though. So they have that going for them

Translation: We're hoping someone else steps in and fights for us so we don't have to

Even the British media is lamenting the feeble response to Iran’s brazen actions.
They don’t know what to do about it and even if they did they couldn’t do it.
One thing the BBC has settled upon though: this is all Brexit’s fault.

Iran uses proxies and they have control of a network of individuals linked to Hezbollah.
Likely including the Mayor of London.

In 2015, a cell was reportedly caught stockpiling tonnes of explosive materials on the outskirts of London.
That was their problem: they should have been INSIDE London where the Mayor would have covered for them.

They've fallen a long ways from the days of "The Sun never sets......."

Great Britain has fallen.

Things you thought you'd never hear the British say.
This must be the final straw in their demise.
The Brits have no fricking Navy. The Brits. The greatest Navy the world ever saw, now can't even stand up to Iran.

Their intelligence agencies were pretty badass when it came to spying on American citizens and trying to help usurp a legit elected president. Send those guys over to iran to get answers.
Either that or send that dumbass trump/baby balloon over to Iran to demand answers.

Send Iran pallets of cash, of course.
Interesting they blame Brexit, when it was prior to Brexit that tried to appease Iran and let the British Navy wither.

It's going to be interesting to watch the West scramble as the umbrella of Pax Americana shrinks to a more reasonable size.

Iran is seizing these tankers with glorified recreational fishing boats and helicopters. If the British Navy is unable to defend against that, it is yet another huge embarrassment for a once great nation and strong people.

There was a funny line in the National Interest, the author writes that the Brits are doubling the size of their deployment.
They went from one ship, to two ships.

But, but, they have free healthcare and are supposed to be a model for this country. Yet another real world example how leftist policy is dangerous. Let it sink in... Britain cannot guard its shipping in the strait of Hormuz from a country that still flies Vietnam era fighter jets and its navy is effectively a bunch of boats that baws in the south ski behind on the weekend.
And this is example number 998 of how the entire west has spent their own money on other things besides what was required per NATO. And how they have relied on the US for their protection. Then.. at the same time.. they lambasted us for our so called draconian health care system.

I picture them all standing around over on Downing Street like “You call him!” “No, YOU call him”. “I tried, he hung up”. “Someone see if that wanker Farage will call him for us!”
Now that right there is funny.
Same type story. Picked up my boss at the Hilton here in Trinidad a few years ago and there were all these military guys walking around, replete with enough hardware on their vests to do a good imitation of Ironman. Boss said its a military convention of the Caribbean.....for three days....how long does it take to sit around a table and speed dial the US????

They should have put armed guards on the ships themselves. The ship owners would have been reluctant to accept that though. We saw that issue with piracy problems in Africa.

They should team up with the German air force. I read that they currently have 20 jet fighters that are flight ready.

They should pay more to expand instead of relying on daddy USA.
