Bush handled that well. He handled all of the immediate impact of 9/11 well. Hell, I think his rating was in the 90s for a short time.

He fricked up Iraq, but the weeks after 9/11 he was nothing short of fantastic.

George Bush's approval ratings in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 were the highest ratings of any president in American history.

And they stayed sky high through 2002 and into 2003.

Then, they started going downhill to the point where he barely won reelection.

We still don't know what Obama did on the night the Benghazi embassy was attacked and 4 Americans died, including a US Ambassador. The media has never shown the least curiosity in finding out what he was doing that night.

As for your pic, meh. In hindsight you can say he should have responded faster, but I understand his reasoning an I think most Americans think he was superb in his handling of 9/11.

W's address to congress after 9/11 gives me goosebumps. I go back and watch it every now and then.

"my fellow citizens, the world has seen for itself the state of our union, and it is strong!"

There are legit criticisms of President Bush. This one misses the mark.

Andy Card has explained that after whispering the news to the President, he deliberately moved away quickly “so that he couldn’t ask me a question.”

Ari Fleischer held up a legal pad in the back of the classroom, with large block letters scrawled on the cardboard on the back of the tablet: “DON’T SAY ANYTHING YET.”

quote:

Bush wondered whether he should excuse himself and retreat to the holding room, where he might be able to find out what the hell was going on. But what kind of message would that send -- the president abruptly getting up and walking out on a bunch of inner-city second-graders at their moment in the national limelight? Bush might look rattled, or worse, panicked. The last thing the nation needed at this moment was a panicked president. Such an image might even play into the hands of the attackers. No, better to remain calm and sit tight for now. Bush sensed that his demeanor would be almost as important as his actions in these first crucial moments.

And his speech on the bullhorn in front of all the first responders gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

In all likelihood, he would state that Crooked Hillary did it in collaboration with the national media and of course the FBI and CIA.

Then he would fire someone he does not like, just to ensure that the do not get their pension.

I think Dubya handled the aftermath of 9/11 just fine. Trump? I wouldn't want him dealing with a crisis of any kind.
