My favorite thing is LSU fans beating their chests over this while Kiffin flat out said it was a difficult decision and now LSU is having to pay his postseason bonuses.

I wouldn’t put any stock into what Kiffin says. I think it was only hard for him because he feared accountability and consequences, not because he didn’t value LSU over us. And we would definitely be doing the same.

What I don’t understand is this pathological need to defend Kiffin bolting or make it Ole Miss’s fault. You can’t beat your chest about how you stole a sitting HC and make said HC the victim.

I don’t think he feared any of that. I don’t think he cares at all. I think the business part of trying to protect his image might count for a smidge, but there’s no actual care about it. The whole image restoration was just a business play.

Edit: if he had fear or cared.. he would have handled it entirely differently. He didn’t care about this fanbase or even folks like Keith Carte. Dude imagine how Keith probably feels. He probably knew there would come a time, but in this fashion?? That’s some messed up shite.

Don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t give a frick about how we react. But he loves being the “lovable scamp” in the national media’s eyes. Which is why he’s turned up the “woe is me, Ole Miss is a bunch of meanies after all I did for them” routine since he has left.

We’re about to get fricked into oblivion tonight, aren’t we?

Probably. The ranking we have tonight will be very telling

If the committee truly uses "data points", I don't see how they can drop us out of the top 12. I do think they'll try to screw us out of a hosting spot though after listening to the Sexton talking heads since the weekend.

My understanding is that they actually rank them on Monday but don't release it until Tuesday.

To get bumped from a hosting spot, the committee would have to move a 10-2 Oklahoma team that we beat on the road ahead of us. Don’t think that’s gonna happen.
