It seems that most schools, even the ones with big NIL budgets, seem to be doing it in a very unwise way. They blow millions on a single player. Kiffin's approach is to use what we have to maximize the effectiveness. He makes sure we don't overpay for a player

In a way, yes, but not exactly. It's more about being wise with who you spend the money on and their value changes by year, experience, and position. The signing day press conference in December, Lane laied this out pretty well. Listen to Kiffin's comments at:

6:20 - 11:50
13:02 - 14:00
17:53 - 18:48

2027 4* DL Jamarkus Pittman committed. Super early so nothing to be too excited over, but 247 has him as the #2 DL in the country (and #31 overall).

From Memphis

The fact that he's a local player helps a bit

Did we get priced out with Duckworth? Felt like we were the leader in the clubhouse for awhile and now he's down to South Carolina and Auburn, both of which have young backup qbs waiting to take over.

High school recruiting is almost pointless now with the transfer portal. You could get a highly touted recruit and he will barely see the field as a freshman then he will transfer.

The strategy now should be an evolved "sign-and-place" where we pay them to go to a G5 school for a year or two then bring them back.

Like the former JUCO strategy. I like it. Let's make Southern our feeder school

Memphis. That's the answer. It's much closer to Oxford than any other G5.

Has anyone else noticed a full court press via social media by Ole Miss toward the 2026 and 2027 recruits?

Good thing. The last piece of the puzzle for Kiffin is success with blue chip high school recruits up and down the roster (not just one offs).
