We will play. There is too much at stake for a majority of SEC schools to not play. Plus the arguments that players will be more safe in a controlled football bubble than at home with family are 100% valid.

I think ADs and presidents can hammer this point and it will likely keep them safe from and potential bad press or legal issues.

You’re assuming that the mainstream media’s only concern is for the safety of the players, but in reality, the only thing it cares about is furthering it’s agenda. Their agenda right now is to push fear.

And there’s no way to prove a player tests positive from someone in the bubble or outside in public or a classroom...

I asked Neal something in the mailbag this week. He said Ledarrius Cox and Brandon Mack are going to be big time contributors.

Why can't the presidents and athletic directors just come out and say that the players are not at a significant risk due to Covid-19 and that they are at more of a risk dying from the flu or some STD that they catch from fricking a bar slut?

I noticed on the roster that Luke Knox is up to 245 pounds now. He could play a bigger role. Tavius Robinson, the Canadian DL transfer, has been added too. He’s listed as a Junior. Hopefully he can catch on quick.

Among the Freshman I think Jak Brown and DeSanto Rollins could get some playing time in the front 7.

While I’m not thrilled that Eli Johnson will be opting out, he is a senior. If this season is a wash anyway then I’d rather try and get some of the younger players more playing time.

His dad had Covid and nearly died. In the hospital in a coma, was a miracle he woke up.

Don't blame him at all for being over cautious here.

Johnson is the only player I can understand wanting to opt out.

Hate it for our O Line but I fully understand his choice. Don’t think he had much NFL potential so he doesn’t have much to play for either.

re: Official 2020 Ole Miss Football Thread - The Lane Train is Leaving the Station
I wanna know what y’all think - who SHOULD be our starting QB this fall? Plumlee is a much better runner than Corral but Plumlee was really poor throwing out of a clean pocket last fall and actually averaged the second lowest yards per play (passing yards and rushing yards combined) of the rising sophomore QBs in the SEC. Corral showed a lack of intangibles for most of the season and generally wasn’t as exciting as Plumlee was, but brought us back in the Egg Bowl and completed a do or die pass downfield to keep us in the game.

There is a lot of talent at ALL skill positions for us on offense this fall and I feel like our receiving corps, which is riddled with 4* talent and quality 3* talent, is being overshadowed. Corral gives us the ability to maximize their potential. Plumlee obviously makes the RBs better since there are two legitimate run threats inside the backfield on any play, making it easier for RBs to get into the open field and make plays.

Upvote for Corral. Downvote for Plumlee. If you wanna see both of them on the field at the same time, reply with how that would work on the field.

Plumlee needs to be on the field at all time. I actually think we might see someone else under center. If we do see someone else I think its Kinkead Dent. I've heard hes put on some great weight and has a stronger arm now.

If kiffin can get Plumlee to have a serviceable arm we will be almost unstoppable on offense. Wish we would have a half decent defense.

If this year is a waste anyways, I'd throw plumlee out there and let him get experience.

See if he has what it takes to lead us in 2-3 of the Kiffin era.

This program needs a shot in the arm in a big way, and I think Corral gives us more potential to win a big game if he converts a few passes.

Why just limit the choices to those two. Tisdale will push for the starting spot.

Did that because those are the two front runners at this point in time. Feel free to chime in with an opinion in favor of someone else.
