Agreed. Can't fault him for a small zone. Will say though, I hope we can have consistency from him as our Sunday starter this year. If we can get him to pitch at least at a decent level on Sundays, I think we can win a lot of series this year.

He left an outside fastball over the plate in the 4th, and I thought that when the batter hit it that it was gone over the right field wall.

When was the last time we didn’t go 1-1 with Tiger High?

Didn't we go 0-2 last year?

shite, you're right. I guess I should've better phrased it as when was the last time we actually swept Tiger High? They typically pitch a weekend starter against us

I guess we'll get a look at our potential sunday starter.

Mc can't find the plate. 1 to 1 ratio of strikes to balls?

Don't give up on McArthur just yet. Some of you are taking away way too much from one series. McArthur wasn't great but he wasn't terrible either. The umpire on Sunday had an exceptionally small zone and Winthrop is a good team.

ha except for the fact that it's much more important to beat Arkansas in football than Memphis in baseball.

A couple of random thoughts because I'm bored at work and not really interested in being productive today.

1. Is anyone else really skeptical of hitting Grae Kessinger leadoff or is it just me? I'd be a lot more comfortable placing someone like Golson or Dillard there.

2. Neal and Chase had an interesting conversation today on the podcast. The question was if McArthur doesn't maintain any consistency on Sundays do you give Ethridge an opportunity? We have possibly the best bullpen in America and part of that is because of Ethridge. Their answer was no. A great bullpen is more valuable and Chase mentioned that McArthur doesn't seem to have the demeanor or pitching style to slide into the bullpen so you'd be essentially losing an arm. I agree. What say you?

3. With Cannizaro out at MS State and their program sort of reeling this really gives us an opportunity this season to capitalize via recruiting and maybe a few more wins in the schedule.

UPDATE: I need to talk down about our leadoff hitters more often.

I like Mc on Sunday, I think you leave Etheridge in the Pen and if need me slip Roth in on Sunday and let Mc be a weekday arm. I thought Mc pitched well though. Didn't get any run support and he threw against an all conference arm for Winthrop.

Beating Memphis doesn’t mean much but it feels good to hang on like that. We would have blown that game last year

Not even mad about almost blowing that one. Memphis is a rivalry game where all we should care about is the W

Tulane any good this year? They typically are at least decent, if not good.

I honestly couldn’t tell you, but I would count on them to field a pretty decent team as you said.
