The defending national champion Ole Miss Rebels will take the diamond beginning on February 17, 2023. The Rebs are ranked highly in some preseason polls and will need to replace some great players if they want to return to Omaha. Gone are sluggers Tim Elko and Kevin Graham, elite backstop Hayden Dunhurst, and all-round talent Justin Bench. Gone is Dylan Delucia, whose clutch pitching performances brought the Rebs a championships.

However, Coach Bianco has recruited well and the Rebs are very talented. As usual, the Rebs expect to have a dynamite Friday night starter in Hunter Elliott. The sophomore posted a 5-3 record as a freshman in 2022 with a sterling 2.70 ERA in 80.0 IP. Jackson Kimbrell is expected to be a key reliever as well in 2023, after limited action in 2022. After that, though, there are many questions about the Rebs' staff, although experienced and talented arms return (Mallitz, Gaddis, Washburn, Dougherty, Maddox, etc.).

Offensively, the Rebs have one of the best shortstops in America in Jacob Gonzalez, who is expected to have a big junior season. Kemp Alderman is expected to be a big power bat for the Rebs as well, having mashed 11 HRs last season. Calvin Harris had a tremendous close to the season and will hopefully stay red hot in 2023. All Reb fans are hoping to see Peyton Chatagnier and TJ McCants continue to hit with power but maybe, just maybe get on base a little more often.

The Southeastern Conference is as loaded as it has ever been and the Rebs draw some very good teams in the non-conference slate. It is going to be a tough but exciting season.

Here is a link to our roster.

Here is a link to our program's official Twitter, which is very good.

Here is a link to our official program webpage, which has interactive schedules and statistics as well as other news about the program.

TV options
- Most games are broadcast through ESPN+/SEC Network+. I believe it is about $6/year and is well worth it if you watch a lot of Rebs beisbol.
- A handful of games will be broadcast on the SEC Network, ESPN2, and ESPNU throughout the season. I will update the title to reflect the TV provider.

Radio options
- David Kellum is a treasure and I listen to him as often as I can. He has been calling Rebs beisbol since 1979! That's when DownSouthJukin graduated from high school! Wow!
- Here is a link to Ole Miss Sports Radio affiliates. You can also stream the games on TuneIn radio.

Live statistics
- This interactive schedule has links to live statistical "broadcasts" of the game, which is great if you're at work and want to keep track.

*All rankings in this thread will be from the current D1 Baseball poll.*

Play ball!

Pretty impressive that Southern Miss manages to have such a strong baseball program with their budget.

Also didn't realize Maryland was good at baseball.

On the surface, that does look like a tough schedule.

Not sure why, but with the spacing, I read this like the intro to a Star Wars film. Here's to a great season

Troof. I think Scott Berry makes a fraction of what Bianco and Lemonis make.

They have a really cool looking stadium and have made a number of regionals in the past decade. Shoot, they won the B1G and hosted a regional last season.

Didn’t Mallitz have Tommy John surgery in the offseason and going to miss the year or am I thinking of someone else?

Yeah I believe he’s out for the season.

Does Mason Nichols return? Dude brought the heat in the CWS.

Most I’ve ever looked forward to a baseball season. A super regional loss wouldn’t even piss me off after last year

I just went to the Arkansas board and read their meltdown after we won the whole thing last year. It’s some good stuff

I don't think Maddox will be ready this year. He had TJ last spring I'm pretty sure.

So pumped to be off work tomorrow and just watch baseball all day though

I'm ready for it.

Just a reminder that you can subscribe to Rebelvision and watch home games that aren't televised.

quote:

OleMissSports.com's RebelVision offers live audio of all football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Subscribers may also watch live video of all non-televised home baseball games and select road games while receiving audio for every contest.

Also thanks 'nado for doing the thread. I was actually going to surprise yall and do one this morning. I turned down that job offer so I'm back to the early morning grinds for a while longer.

ETA: just noticed SECN+ in the thread title. Time to re-sub to Sling.
