This is a crazy stat. This team lost a bog player until Feb and is still doing major things. Their D is crazy good

My take on NBA. If not for Thunder I wouldn’t watch. When NBA went full BLM in 2020 I stopped. But eventually they got away from it. And all sports leagues did that crap, even college teams. OU had a BLM badge on their uniforms. NFL to this day still has slogans in end zones plus created a fake NA to play before the real one. I try to overlook things as much as possible. So I went back to keeping up with OKC as long as they don’t push that crap on me again. If they do I’ll hang it ip for good.

Right now the NBA is making a tactical error. They are pushing LJ and others at end of careers over a young team like OKC. Had a chance to expose new fans to Thunder on XMas day and didn’t even have them scheduled. Big mistake. SGA is a star.

And I absolutely hate Kerr and PopoBitch for their pushing politics via their pulpit.

Wanted to get it out there. This team has a chance to go all the way and win title this year. If Holmgren comes back in Feb and gets in basketball shape this team has all the players needed to win title.

OKC is #1 in Defensive efficiency

#1 in steals per game
#4 in blocks per game
#1 in opponent points in paint
#2 in opponent fast break points

They’ve had Chet for 10 games and Caruso for 20.

Maybe the best defense this millennia and missing arguable they’re top 2 defenders

Having Chet back makes them juicy. I caught some of the game last night while at the OG (Olive Garden). The carbonara was almost as rich as SGA’s next contract.

I’ve been around sports a long time. The leagues have their faves and its to do with how they can make the most money. OKC is a small market TV team and you can’t trust NBA to ref them fair. That matters in Western playoffs. Its honestly one of the few roadblocks they’ll have, Presti has built a monster.

Last build was destroyed by a weak minded whorns player. Glad to be rid of him. Presti has went scorched earth this time around. He practically runs the drafts with all his assets. And he has put the talent together. For him to see the future SGA back when he got him is amazingly good foresight.

When we had Harden and went to finals it appeared we’d win the next year. But the NBA redid their tax structure prior which meant as a small market team our owners were not going into Lux tax. At that time it was over cap in any 3 of 4 year window and you paid a harsh 3-1 lux tax. If over by $10m thats $30m extra in lux tax. $40m is $120m more in tax. People blame Presti but he did what owners told him - don’t go onto Lux tax. Had we kept Harden we go into it, thus the trade to get some value knowing they wouldn’t keep him due to lux tax.

Fast forward and owners know the window may appear big but its small. So they let Presti cook. And cook he has done. He still has so many cards he can play. But won’t overdo it as to keep the chemistry they have. They’ll be willing to spend this go around.

His roster is so good he’ll have to unload some in off season. Other teams will be calling all the time to get some of his players. And if owners look at bigger picture of what a title or more than 1 title can do to a franchises value - they will pay the extra taxes to keep talent and pay the piper. Look what it did to SAS value back in the day. Same with GS.

The Thunder currently have the 4th-greatest Margin of Victory in NBA history at +12.18. Highest since the 95-96 Bulls. Only 4 teams ever have posted a >12 MOV. What OKC is doing right now is historical

I really hope they get to mop the courts with Dallas in the playoffs. I’m calling OKC v Boston

Thats most likely. But OKC vs Cleveland is better. Both smaller market teams and refs more equal. Boston would be bigger TV wise and thus get the one sided refs in Boston favor.

If one looks at stats its amazing how many games OKC has less free throws yet are first in drives to basket where most fouls are called. It really is bad and will hurt us in playoffs.

Some stats to show how bad the free throw attempts comparison is.

All FGs attempted per game:
OKC: 3,046
Opp: 2,808

Its normal if you shoot more you get fouled more (but at similar rates)

Then some say because we take more 3’s you get fouled less on those tries. Yet 3 tries are almost dead even:

3pt tries:
OKC: 1,286
Opp: 1.260

So it stands to reason FTs would favor OKC slightly due to more overall FG attempts. Yet look at the actual FT stats.

FT attempts:
OKC: 638
Opp: 795

Now that is facts. We are not getting the calls other teams get. And league needs to investigate why.

And on top of that we lead opponents in steals at 392-223. Steals are a higher chance the opponent fouls to prevent fast breaks due to most happening on outer perimeter.

Wow! Won 117-107

This is special stuff from OKC.

5th game in 7 nights.

Knicks had won 9 straight.

Down 14 points at one point. Down 8 to start the 4th.

Thunder get their 14th straight win in style.

And in case anyone says Shai gets extra foul calls remind them this

“Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has the most games this season with 35+ PTS & less than 5 FTA.”

He also takes any tech FTs. And gets fouled intentionally at end of games.

SGA is on pace to become the 6th player since 1980 to average 30+ PPG with less than 8 free throws per a game

There have been 57 seasons of a player averaging 30+ PPG in that time frame

The Dorture Chamber

How did Jaylen Brown score 21 in the first half and 0 in the second half?

Mark Daigneault: “We moved Lu Dort on him.”
