Presti will have to convince Hartenstein to re-negotiate his 3rd year option for the 2026/27 season if he is to stay with the Thunder. Set to make $28.5MM which would be a massive cap hit with the younger guys coming off rookie contracts who'll earn big paydays here or somewhere else... Hartenstein may be a FA.
But if that decision were to occur, the Thunder will have between 3 & 5 1st round picks and some guys who'd be starters on other teams. If he were to trade for a Hartenstein replacement, who does Presti go after?

I think Rookie T Sorber was his eventual replacement. But he got hurt and is out for season. So he won’t get any reps this year.
Plus IHart is playing better this year it takes time to learn systems and teammates patterns and trusting each other. He is playing looser.
I love IHart and hope we can find a way to keep him. He has to love it here compared to NY because less taxes and crime and traffic - he has a toddler too. But with him doing better this year he could likely get more money elsewhere.
Adams was another favorite of mine but he got caught up in rebuilding. Now IHart might get caught up in cap due to being so good and having to pay everyone else.
SGA really has bonded with him. So have other players. They were really making effort to pass him the ball to break his high scoring record.

SGA led the NBA in 30 (points) under 30 (minutes) games last season with seven.
He's already had five 30 under 30 games this season.
Tonight was his 187th 30 point game in his 380th game played for the Thunder. He’s had 30 or more in 48% of his games with the Thunder
For context, Russ was 34% and KD was 43%
Isaiah Hartenstein becomes the 23rd player in Thunder history with a 30+ point game.
Hartenstein on Shai:
"What makes him really special as a superstar is he has no ego. There's no ego involved. So for us it's really easy to follow him. He puts in a lot of work. He puts the team first at all times, and I think that's what makes him an amazing leader."

They were down by 19 twice! This team is ridiculous.

Chet needs to stop taking hard hits. But they are a machine. AJ another great night he could be up for awards if he keeps this up. IHart has really improved since last year. And Coach is good at challenges.
Play Tue/Wed night. GS and LAL.

10-1 after a brutal beginning schedule & road swing. ...

Yes, they want that home court in playoffs, makes a huge difference.
Also think they want to win NBA Cup to hang another banner. Its kind of a cheesy tourney but these players love challenges and want to win a lot more than just one title.
Its crazy how they dan still win with so many out or hurt. But because of how they won title so young that means they are still learning and getting better.
Sometimes like yesterday it seems they toy with teams just to challenge themselves. They got up early then started taking bad shots. Grizz took advantage and went up 19. Then it seemed the players decided to play for real to see if they could come back. And win by 14.

Machine!!
The OKC Thunder led by as many as 36, held Golden State to 72 points after 3 quarters and will move to 11-1 on the season.
Thunder will host the Lakers tomorrow night at Paycom Center. We get the biggest whiner in NBA. Plus Lakers refs.

This is win 222 for Thunder Coach Mark Daigneault. This win puts him 100th All-Time in coaching wins.

When looking at stats and SGA leads most of them and factor this in its wild
The Thunder have now played 12 games this season
Shai’s sat 6/12 fourth quarters
