killz, do me a solid bro. Link me up to that critic's site. I'm going to quote that horseshite in a sales sheet. I'm launching a foodie/restaurant publication and I can't fricking stand smarmy pompous food critics.
Their opinions are only their opinions and they don't give a true representation of an establishment with character and often they do hit pieces in retaliation to not getting an ad bought or not kissing arse. I write my reviews to encourage business and people to go out and enjoy their lives, not to bash locals or to pump my ego.
Different areas and cultures have their own uniqueness with how meals are prepped, presented, and prepared. I love finding hidden gems and increasing the business of a place that's doing something special.

They are clearly talking about the oasis in cottondale which does have the best burger in Tuscaloosa and has a rusty metal awning, but no there's no ham served on the hamburger but people still smoke in there at lunch. It's a throwback.
