My GF has a jetta. She is not a DB. However, a dude driving a jetta is a little on teh ghey side.

They're also pieces of shite for vehicles. Every single person I know who has owned a VW has had a myriad of bizarre problems with their cars. And they're ugly too. Why do people drive those things?

Yeah, but that's freeway. City speed is like 32 MPH.

I dont agree with this. And I was wary about the reliability when my GF was buying hers but she pulled information from a myriad of sources that proved me wrong. Apparently they are now number three behind toyota and honda for reliability. I am speaking solely about newer(<5-10 yrs old) VWs BTW.

I hate the boy and dad throwing a ball commercial.

Because, obviously, everyone wants to own the car owned by men that throw like pussies.

How do they define reliability? If the floor boards are wet, and it hasn't rained in over a week, and we haven't driven through any creeks, then I guess the car is technically still drivable, but it's ridiculous.

When they break down they are super expensive to repair and very difficult to diagnose. If you own a Jetta, Beetle, or just about any VW product and the transmission goes out then rest assured your car is now totalled. The average cost of rebuilding a trans in most of these cars is 4500-5000+.

They are pieces of shite.

ETA: Replacement trans from the dealer runs around 6500.

WTF you are you talking about? Basically, you are telling me that you knew somebody who had a jetta and their floor boards were wet due to an a/c problem or coolant issue and now all jettas are unreliable? How do YOU define reliability. Im sure we could find a toyota owner who had the same issue but that doesnt mean toyotas suck does it? There are way too many variables(how old was the car?, How well did he take care of it?, etc)

See the post above yours. His seems to be doing just fine. Yes they can break but they really have come a long way. Also, the warranty my GF got on hers was pretty damn good too.

Nice, the GFs is still <10,000 miles but it really does run smooth as silk.
