He was making an arse out of federal employees and government policy b/c they were obviously conducting illegal activities. Who has checks on the government? No one except those willing to shed light on it to the masses. These guys are patriots, show them some respect.

Of course, you're missing the point entirely. Rosa is vindicated now only because of the change that her actions led to. At the time she was considered a troublemaking bitch, much like you consider this guy one (actually I think it is several different people, but I digress). Time will tell who's vindicated here, but I'm not betting on you.

She didn't repeatedly jump on a bus trying to be a trouble making bitch. Nor did she film it. It was spontaneous. Maybe you missed my point. I'm not willing to get into more useless arguments here any longer. I won't change my opinion on these guys and neither will you. Besides, I'm too slow with this iPad key board to keep up with the inevitable insults that will bandied about soon. I'm moving along to a more positive thread. My hippy days are long gone. Not that I ever had any. I'm a capitalist pig now.

I get the feeling you think government assistance is bad. And I can understand that. Why should our tax dollars go to irresponsible people. We work, so why can't they?
To that I reply what about the children of these irresponsible individuals? It's not their fault their dad doesn't have a job. Should they go hungry or live in squalor?
I know the DHR man in Fayette County Alabama, and in Fayette County, AL a welfare check is about $160 a month. Recipients have to prove that they have been looking for work, and they can't draw off welfare indefinitely (limit of 60 checks over a lifetime). Also if there were no gov't assistance (no food stamps or welfare checks) it's pretty much a certainty that crime rates would rise, and not by an unnoticeable margin. That money that assists these adults and children would instead be spent on more police wages, court costs, prisons, etc. So your tax dollars are going to be spent either way.

Not to get into a big Government pissing match, but I am not against aid for people that actually need it, but it needs to be handled at the State level. The Federal Government is there to provide for the common defense, watch our borders and foreign relations. All of these Federal laws dealing with education, drugs, guns, etc. are things that are SUPPOSED to be handled at the State level. Government is too big and needs to be cut back down to size.
