That's because the Volt utilizes all horsepower at wheels. They actually have to put a progressive ramp up in power on them to keep them from slinging the tires off the wheels. The Vette, while have twice the horsepower only utilizes 60% or so at the wheel. The rest is dispersed in heat and friction of the engine and transmission. Don't get me wrong. I'm not willing to commit to something like that yet. It's just interesting fun.
Now my question is what type of transmission a Volt has. Is it a familiar gearing type transmission or does it have the CV(constant velocity) type. If its a CV or if that is an option then that would even make it faster cause it wouldn't lose bHP in the transmition. Would be more like a jet at takeoff. Just pure acceleration without shifts

I'm just saying I want to see it. I believe you I just want too see it. I think it would be funny as hell. The volt has a one speed auto trans. Which I remember when Nissan came out with the Murano and the single gear trans. It was fast and weird to ride in it.
