I hope you badasses with your guns enjoy your jail time. Prepare your anus. Much easier to hit the guy with your car. Also easier to prove it was an accident.

Well in AL that may be the case but let's look at what is on TN books as the law

1) intent -does the man have intent to do you bodily harm or death? Well he pulled a gun out so yes

2) ability - does the man have the ability to cause said harm or death? Yes he has a car and a handgun (does not matter if it is loaded or not because its not like they hand it to you to check)NYE as the ability to hurt or kill me

3) jeopardy - this is the part where you say you were scared for your life.

Under these conditions can you use a handgun in a justifiable self defense manner

If you can prove this was the case then your good. Your word vs a dead person word. So yea go frick yourself for being an ignorant a-hole who doesn't know shite.

If the guy touches your car the state automatically by law gives you the first 2 and you have to say is I was scared for my life and boom you have 3. I'd rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6

Being threatened with a deadly weapon is enough to prove use of deadly force as self defense.

False in TN it goes on a case by case basis. Say a big guy like 6'3 250 lbs attacked a small woman she would probably get off easy. Usually a weapon has to be produced in order to justifiably shoot someone

That could be argued.

If you think it's that simple, I can't help you.

Well I would just keep driving like the OP did and I wouldn't be going to court for murder. And nobody would be dead. So who's smarter in this situation?

I was making the general statement that if you are threatened with a deadly weapon, and fear for your life, you have the right to defend yourself with deadly force.

You haven't lived here very long have you ? You can be both in the right and shot in the face in the same second here in Shelby County... Next time someone is riding your arse like that, Just give them the thank you wave and get out of their way... And if someone got out of their car and pulled a gun you should've gotten their tag number and alerted the authorities.. Not do a write up on the SEC OT board.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Wouldn't make it to court anyway.
