We would show up to the party (likely uninvited), beat them in all their tennis and golf games, eat all their pimiento cheese sandwiches, and then leave because we wanted something fun to do

Personally after meeting quite a few of y'all on my trips into Houston I would say this would probably be spot on and I will say if it wasn't for y'all being the Ag school with the military as well y'all would be a shoe in.

Look man if y'all you are trying to do is frick with and rile me up ... you're not going to ... now if you would like to actually debate this I'm game and would love to hear your opinions as to why I might be wrong or what might be better. But otherwise I am not going down this path with you and I'll no longer be responding.

And to answer your question yes I have been to many and I am a member of a few as well actually.

Then you would surely know that there are a few more sports besides tennis and golf that are mainstays of clubs

Well if you actually went by your criteria, I would debate you, but you seemed to choose arbitrary answers to your questions with no basis on reality but your somewhat false perceptions

Good point another reason why USCe is a nice addition and why if it weren't for the reason I stated aTm should be consider.

Your listed criteria is probably everything I wouldn't want in a school.

Well what else would qualify in your opinion because around here the most predominant ones are Tennis and golf?

My bad if I tend to go from one thing to another and I will try my best to stay in line with this discussion ... one reason I start this thread was to get a better understanding of what qualifications and measuring sticks one should use to actually determine what teams to place in this group. So please off up your opinion and let's move forward with the process. I welcome critiques.

Free choice man ... it's a beautiful thing isn't it ... probably some of the reason you chose aTm as well, am I not correct?

Texas A&M University is an enormous institution of higher education, in which tens of thousands of students meet your criteria and tens of thousands do not.

ETA: The list of schools are as follows:

Alabama
Florida
Georgia
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Vanderbilt

Uhm. No.

The Mississippis put on airs with the best but everybody knows there's no substance to back any of that up. Florida is Ohio State south. South Carolina has as many New Jerseys as Palmettos. And the Alabamas have too many pretenders - real frat doesn't come from the Birmingham and Atlanta 'burbs.

That leaves Georgia - strong history in tennis and golf, sound academics, strong Greek scene; and Vandy - they're Vandy. Throw them in with UVA, UNC, Sewanee, CoC, and Washington & Lee and that's the CC of the South.

Florida does not belong.

Sorry.

Gainesville is the furthest thing from a country club.

Oxford, Athens and Nashville for sure. Tuscaloosa too, I guess.

I feel like this country club is something I'd rather not be a part of.
