It's not strep or mono. I've been tested for both twice and all came back negative. Just some type of infection that normally goes away within a few days with antibiotics. And I know it wouldn't get as bad if I would rest and stay out of the cold, but that isn't always an option, really.

It's going to probably hurt to hear this but you may need to stop drinking for a bit because it suppresses your immune system.

I know it does. Which is why I cut it back to only socially drinking on the weekends, but going out in the cold and hanging out in smoky places is still making it come back. I'm probably going to get another fill of amoxicillin on Monday. And I've always had issues in the spring with allergies and throat/upper respiratory infections. It sucks, but since it's about the only health problem I have I can't complain too much.
