You might be right.
But on the other side, I still don't see why people hate on Greeks unless they're just plain jealous. I have tons of friends that were Greek, tons of friends that weren't, and that seems to be the norm for most of my friends.

Yep. My wording and context was a little confusing. I was talking about the people that take the Greek hate over the top.

Same here. Also, it's not quite as polarizing at Auburn as it is in Tuscaloosa. And we don't have a paper like the UA student paper desperately searching for any dirt on the fraternities they can find.

There are definitely folks that take it too far. Mostly the freshmen and sophomores that had social issues in high school.
Yeah, at a smaller school we were just laid back and liked to have fun. I had friends in other houses too, it wasn't that cliquey. I couldn't have handled that.

It's really not much different then anyone you meet in life. You come across some people that are complete elitists about it, won't associate with you if you're non-Greek, etc. You come across some that are great people to associate with and DGAF.
I'm non-Greek myself, but had several friends who were in college and met both kinds of people along the way so I never really took it as a reflection upon Greeks as a whole. There were definitely specific sororities/fraternities that had that holier than thou mentality, but not all (and not even all in those specific houses) were that way. It really just depended upon who you came across I guess.

The CW is notorious for hating on Greek life. They are a laughing stock to most of the student population, and you won't find many people at UA to refute that fact.

The pledgeship stuff this past year was complete bullshite. Attempting to punish every fraternity over basically nothing is insane.

The douchemagoos who take it too seriously are the ones
that piss me off. Dont try to act like a bad arse just bc 4 of yout fratstars are standing behind you.

I had to have weekly meetings with the office of Judicial Offairs (Dr. Hepson) and he would laugh at some of the stuff that he had "heard." He was Greek himself back in the day and couldn't get over how pussified everyone had become in terms of pledgeship. But, dude had to do his job. When I was a newboy, nothing ever got shut down or anything, but there were a few instances where it was close.
I heard what happened this year, and all I can do is

I would be the latter part of that statement. I have a lot of close friends who were Greek, and some that weren't. More that were, but not necessarily in the same house.

Let's redirect this convo away from the Greek vs. Non-Greek nonsense, because it honestly doesn't mean shite.
Auburn will win 1 SEC game next year, max. Discuss.

Auburn is a non-hazing campus, so we wouldn't know.

Sigma Nu is founded as a "non-hazing" fraternity

It's possible we only win one, but doubtful with the talent we have on campus. I think we probably come out around .500 overall.

But I was going to use it into a segue about this great baklava recipe. Bastard.
