Enough with the damn rain. Lanier is going to be 4 feet out of the banks before the day is over. Enough is enough..

This is taken about a mile from my house. We are busting at the seams...

Good morning people. I always wanted lake front property. Looks like I may get it soon

Surprisingly, I have never tried it. I have heard it is OK but that place was once a "Quicky oil change station". I just cant get past that to try it.

Good BBQ is often found in weird places. There's a place in ATL called Heirloom's...it's attached to a gas station but its some dame good food.

I grew up in a town with a BBQ joint on every single block. Eat it as a kid like they were going to stop making it.

No much I have not tried.

There is one decent place close to the lake but all the good BBQ places are south of the big city..

Morning all. Don't worry they will let a ton of water out of the lake soon. Be back to seeing clay banks by the 4th. I'm also ready for my ticket to the Ark

Not going out today. Have some things to do with my tackle company. I have trips the rest of the week

The lake will probably be close to 4 feet over full today. With the lake at full pool, they can pull about a inch per day. Less with it full. I don't see the like getting down to normal pool for a few months. Everything is saturated

The lake being that full is a pain for fishing and boating. There will be no beaches exposed this summer. It creates issues that people forget about.

Yeah I can see where issues would pop up. Good luck with all that

Heading down to Philadelphia, MS for a turf workshop at Dancing Rabbit. Gotta give a short presentation on my research proposal. Then lunch and get to play a round of golf.

I can see that for a fisherman like yourself. I just remember the pain of a couple years ago having to drive my butt to Cumming three times one summer to float my Dad's dock out, and dry dock the boat and jet ski's because he was in Afghanistan and the core kept releasing water out of the lake. The lake looked anemic for a couple summers after that... Glad it has swelled back up some. I know there was a big to do in court about the amount they were allowed to release etc.. All the people that lived on the lake were quit upset.

There are really more issues than fishing.

As you may know, Lanier is the busiest COE lake in the country. 3.5 million visitors per year. A lot of our summer boating traffic beach boats and sit. With the lake being so high, boats can not beach and ride. Which puts more and more traffic on a already major cluster frick.

There are always more accidents when the lake is totally full. I expect it again this year.

Yes, fishing is much better when the lake is down but my business is better when its up. People like the lake full for some reason.

5 foot down in the summer is perfect. I will be moving brush piles for months getting things ready for a full pool summer.

The Cahaba River is right by my house. It was at flood stage this week and was 18ft over normal.

My parents live by it as well. I was over at their house on Saturday and told them they may want to buy a canoe if it keeps rising

I went to our place near the Tallapoosa yesterday to check on everything and do a little fishing, and oddly our ponds and creeks were barely up at all. We missed most of the rain. A good flash flood in the bottom would screw up an already poor turkey hatch. Fingers crossed the water levels stay normal.

I live 5 minutes from the lake and have yet to go fishing
I remember during the drought when you could see the race track and buildings poking out of the water

We haven't had too much rain but the heat index is supposed to get up to 95 today.

Just finished testing with my kiddo. Waiting on classes to resume. Good times.
