Probably ask the wife for that as an anniversary gift, along with the irons of my choosing. Who knows what I will have to get her for that

The irons I have were given to me and are a degree upright and oversized... can't play anything but a damn draw with the things. I think I need standard lie and length, but I will definitely get fitted.

They're intimidating looking at the top line but I think it's forced me to hit cleaner shots. I just played a quick 9 (38) & hit some pretty good shots. Still getting used to the added distance. I had 194 to the pin and flew a 5 iron passed the pin on a par 5. I was shocked.

I played 18 today with a guy who hits blades. He fricking kills it. He hits a 6 iron when I'm hitting a 3 iron. I can see the advantage of playing them and if I was scoring in the 30's on 9, I would play them too. It seems like the control and spin with blades is better, maybe I'll get there someday.

My game is just so much better with cavity backed clubs that I gave up the bladed clubs long ago, still got a few sets laying around though, all Wilson Titleiest stuff.

I play Hogan Edges and think they are the finest irons ever made. I play a Tiger Nike sandwedge, a Cleveland 58 degree copper wedge, a TR7 driver and a Taylor Made fairway hybrid. I putt with a 30 year old Titleist DT gooseneck putter than is still butter, and I can play range balls and score better than most at my age.
