I don't think any know I post/lurk on here, mainly because I never talk about it. Most of my hiking/camping friends up here know I'm on 14ers.com though. It's a wealth of information, on top of the forums, which is also a gold mine of information from everyone. Completely different atmosphere than this board. And by that, I mean not near as funny to read . 
ETA: most hikers in CO also hike the 14ers (to some degree at least) and are either signed up, or just visit 14ers.com for the information you can get from it. So it's apretty widely known website and forum here.

Yes. I am friends IRL with a bunch of the OM posters and a couple State posters.

i just dont talk about it in real life. i tell them i post and read sports boards when i see something interesting but i really dont talk about it much

My close friends know but they don't judge because they occasionally read here and they post on reddit. Others kind of know but don't know my name or that I have a twitter specifically for this site.

The thing is, I pretty much do what I want regardless of what people may think. If it's right for me, that's all that matters - I've always been this way. I get a kick out of it, it's fun and I've met (some IRL, some just online) some great people. Several of my IRL friends know - not all.

Most of my friends post somewhere, but my family, except my brother don't understand it either. He lurks on the rant, but won't sign up since it would be pointless to do so when chances are he'd get banned the first day.

Most of mine kind of look down on me for it one in particular thinks I'm a fool for spending so much time here.
I just ignore it cause he spends enough time doing far less productive things than this. And that's saying something

My brother knows I do. He also calls it "blogging," but he did make a username and posted a couple in the Haiku thread pre LSU Bama game.
