I meant 380. sorry I'm not a gun expert by any means.

Basically I was expecting we'd walk out of there with a pea shooter, instead this feels like a legit piece.

Why is everyone saying congrats like he had a child?

9 mm is a good round. I primarily carry .40, but still carry 9 or .38 at times.

Because it is always good to see a fellow law abiding citizen armed.

Shouldn't take long to get the next one you "need".

It got to the point with my husband that I finally told him to stop pretending he needed and to just admit he wanted to collect them. We now have a large safe full of guns. Last time I checked he has over 45.

9mm is about all I shoot anymore. My 1911 is a .38 Super tho, and I have a Ruger Mark IV.

seriously though, never thought myself a gun guy, then a few months ago we had a serial rapist in our neighborhood. Broke into three houses when women were by themselves and raped them, some in broad daylight. that was the last straw, decided it was time to arm myself and my wife, especially because she works from home a lot. feels good to have some extra peace of mind.

.38 Super

How bad are the ammo prices?

I have been itching for a "Super 38" 1911

Ammo is around the same price as 45. It's not the price that's necessarily the problem, it's just finding some place that carries it, even before things got crazy.

That being said, it's a marksman's caliber, so, most of the people who shoot it reload their own ammo. I'll start reloading in the next few months.

The gun shoots like a dream. A loaded model Taurus 1911, and I got it for $500. I sold my Para 1911 because the Taurus is a better shooter. Taurus discontinued the .38 Super a couple years back.

I have never understood why that round isn't more popular.

Its what all of the gangsters in the '30s had their 1911's chambered in.

hardest part is loading the effing bullets into the clip, pain in the arse but I guess I'll get used to it.

what about ammo? I've heard it's hard to find 9mm these days. I got a box of 20 hollow points for $30, is that about going rate? Plan on having a clip of these for the house, buying range bullets for when we go shoot.

We had a knock at the door in the early morning. Guy was banging on the door pretty hard making sure to wake us up.

I had no intention of opening the door since I have no peephole, but I do have a balcony off my bedroom that affords a view of the front door in the reflection of the neighbor's car window.

Homeboy had two of his brothas hanging out right behind him ready to come on in when the polite person opens the door.

Called the cops, 45 minutes later they showed up.

Bought a gun for the next time.
