If you want a sure fire way to promote the benefits of cable over satellite just show a commercial of a thunderstorm and then a black screen for a full minute with the "searching for signal" message in the corner.
I have cable at home but where I work is all satellite and without fail the first sign of rain and it goes out! Never have that trouble with Comcast.

Directv is cheaper and has more channels.
Ive had no signal for a grand total of 8 minutes in the two plus years with Directv.

I have DirectTv and the only time I haven't had signal was before they finished installing my dish and receivers.

Your dish is not pointed correctly. It's gotta rain REALLY HARD for the signal to just "go out". Check you signal strength on a clear day.

8minutes? Really? You timed that shite?
Or are you just throwing that our there.
I understand that satellite has its benefits as you can have service anywhere. But having dish service in the city is ridiculous. My xFinity has just as many channels as any dish provider that I know of.

I have had Directv for at least 10 years and only have had this problem once or twice ... maybe at most five times. Seriously.

If this is the case your work needs to have a tech to come out and adjust the satellite. I have Dish at home and I can count on one hand how many times I have lost reception in the last 3-4 years....when I do lose it, it is for just a few minutes.
