That just breaks my heart. Kids should never have to deal with situations like that, and yet it happens all the time.

Good morning my fellow posters. Had a banana and fiber bar with some water this morning. Feel great today especially since the paycheck came in.
Special shout out to Wade and WestCoast.

And now I'm counseling the adults in my building. One of my good friends/coworker is talking about calling off her wedding to another good friend/coworker. And of course both have been coming to me separately to talk about it.
My life has turned into a shitshow right now.

Sorry your having such a shite morning. When I get home I will post some funny gifs to make you feel better.

I'm Switzerland right now. Both have legit issues. What it boils down to is they need to sit down and have a very real, very adult conversation about what they both want and expect from their relationship.

Thanks darlin'
What makes this worse is we're all supposed to be going to a surprise dinner tonight for another coworker who is leaving this year. We've all worked with her for 6-7 years at this point so I can't imagine them not going. Plus two other coworkers are all involved in this damn mess and they'll be there too.
I don't have enough bail money to get them all out of jail if the shite goes down.

I've never understood talking to others when the problem would be solved if the couple would have a come to Jesus meeting.

Good morning from the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Just gotta make it to Friday.

Well right now they're not talking to each other and she's told him she wants to call everything off. She won't even talk to him about it. She's hot headed as hell and he's a "fixer". It's all kinds of crazy right now.

Of course not. So you're their emotional landfill. Prayers sent

Alcohol is the equivalent of gasoline in this situation. I'm sorry you're going to have that to deal with tonight.

I got that Sons of Abraham song that Bobby sung on Mad Men this week in my head. Keep singing it while I work.

Are you doing the fist pumps? It's not complete without the fist pumps.
And yes, I'm the emotional landfill. I'm just considering it rough practice for when I'm a private therapist post-certification at this point. Who needs an internship when you can work with people in education.

The stories I have about crazy teachers would have you in stitches. All you can do is laugh. I knew one lady who taught the second grade, met a guy on the internet, left mid year to marry him, moved to Australia, and realized upon arriving in Sydney that he was a she.

Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a good listener belle.

Yeah... it ends up being a boundary thing.

They really do. And they're the kind of couple that when it's good, it's really good between them. But when it's bad, take cover.
The whole root of the issue for them right now is they're big arse flirts and they need to establish some fricking boundaries. She caught him texting a coworker (who will be at said dinner tonight) with some shite he shouldn't have been (this isn't the first time he's done this, just not with this chick). A couple weeks ago he caught a coworker texting her talking shite like he wanted to hook up (and knowing the coworker I wouldn't be shocked) but she never replied to him or anything (this coworker will also be at said dinner tonight). And while common sense would say you don't do that in a serious relationship, when they initially got together they were both still married to other people so their boundaries are a bit....errrr..loose to begin with.
He's at least bowed out of going to the dinner tonight but she'll still be there as well as the chick he was texting with.
Stay tuned at about 10 C/11 EST tonight for further developments.
