Dude is most likely over reacting.
He is a bit insecure too. I can't stand insecure men.

Bah! women just think differently than guys... Women can be strictly plutonic, but guys can not.
And so said dudes girl thinks it oh happy lunch time. While her Ex is gauging his chances at getting back with her.
Also dude is a lil insecure, he has probably put his relationship on the rocks with her and not even realized it.. otherwise this girl, if she has half a brain would realize most men can not handle that type scenario, and not go to lunch with her ex.

I dont get why he wouldnt be invited to the dinner. Thats the thing I dont understand. Usually couples go to dinner together and meet one anothers friends.
When I was dating my crazy ex, one of her old frick buddies was about to be deployed and she hadnt seen him in 6 months. She said she wanted to see him before he left, and wanted me to go with her because she wasnt comfortable going by herself. I told her sure. Then later I told her I was busy and that I was fine with her going by herself. But mostly because I didnt value the relationship and knew it was gonna end, so I didnt really care if she hooked up with him or not.
Of course my ex was a slut so.

You would want to go to dinner with your ex and her ex frick buddy?

I'd let her go. If you're that worried about her cheating, there are bigger problems at play in your relationship. Plus if she does cheat, you don't want to be with the slut anyway.
This is all dependent on the individual scenario of course.
