I know you gotta do what mama wants, but you may be happier finding a country club which has a pool. It may cost a little more $, but IMHO, well worth the trade. Plus, you may get some golf out of the deal.

Good luck

First of all, pay the extra money to buy an above ground pool that can handle a salt water system. Will literally save you thousands of dollars in chemicals over the life of the pool. I built pools for 6 years. Many are crap. Sharkline made a very nice high end model several years ago that could handle saltwater, it was an upgraded version of their Morada series. Last one I built though was spring of 2012. Also, if you opt for a true above ground over a plastic one like was suggested earlier. Pay for pro installation. It really is worth it. The average pool sold is a 24', installation should be around $800. If its more they are ripping you off, unless you have a steep yard and they charge for extra grading. A 18x33 oval will be around $1500. Everything else should be less. If you just want a temporary stop gap, those plastic ones really are surprisingly good pools. Also, the main reason I advise above ground to people is if you don't want it, pay someone $100 and its gone. Throw down some seed, and you have grass again. In ground is a lot more work to make it disappear.
