Guitar players: Rio Grande pickups

You can't go wrong with their BBQ/Genuine Texas pair for any 24.75 set-neck HH guitar really. They sound great in 335s and LPs and they really do a positive number on all mahogs like SGs and Vs, giving them some extra high end zing.

If you have nice pots in your guitar and are working a nice tube amp, they are INCREDIBLY volume pot sensitive ... 10 means 10, 8 means 8, 4 means 4. I find 0-8 or so is akin to a classic PAF voice and 9-10 is that with a splash of Tabasco. Not so much a gain boost as a snarl or attitude boost.

I use CTS pots, 500Ks with humbuckers, and Orange Drop capacitors. My favorite values in the case of Gibson HH guitars are a .022 for a shared tone or the neck specific pickup's tone control and a .015 for a bridge specific pickup's tone.
