The good ole boys pulled to within 1 game of the magical .500 mark last night by doing what they normally do to the Mariners. That is now 22 wins in the last 24 vs. Seattle. As a token of appreciation, each Mariner team member will find one of these in their locker when they arrive at the park today, courtesy of the Astros.

And as always, the victors enjoy the spoils...

The M's were on the receiving end of a somewhat proper Frambering. But the most exciting development of the night--even more exciting than that time NASCAR driver Cale Yarborough showed up in Hazzard County--was the return of an old, long lost friend:

Suddenly all feels right again. Except for this lost little fella:

Time to get back even with the league, gents (and the one lady who has been posting lately)

The Margevicius dude replaced Graveman in the rotation and pitched 3.1 innings his last start, allowing no runs. He doesn't figure to pitch long, allowing the good guys to get into the M's weak pen and do damage

The guy usually doesn't mess around and throws strikes so the bats should be aggressive early.

Dusty Baker said he noticed Yordan Alvarez was running gingerly on Friday. He said he may drop him in the batting order on Saturday so, if he has to run for him, it doesn't "tear up the middle of my order."

Alvarez insists his knees are fine

I thought that was a parody of something stupid Dusty might say. But holy shite he actually said that.

If I've said it once, I've said it 100 times. Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.

And if Yordan is running gingerly, it's probably due to that massive chainsaw penis he has to carry around :nohomo:

Per Rome

Michael Brantley (quad) woke up this morning sore, Dusty Baker said. Baker said it is "possibly" an injured list situation, but the team is still analyzing. Baker said the decision will be made "in a couple hours."

Everybody's favorite funny man is back

quote:

Joe Biagini said Corpus Christi was extremely hot, which made the water park next to Whataburger Field enticing: "Guys are gazing longingly at the water slides out there. I haven’t seen anybody sneaking over there, which is probably good thing."

Biagini also said the guys in Corpus Christi started an “a cappella singing group” every morning. He didn’t want that to get out, though. Tip your waitresses.

Gonna make himself a nice cheap resign if we want him. Can easily bring back George, Yuli and Uncle Mike if we don't need to sign any pitching.

If (major if) verlander comes back then we are set on the rotation. What was a question mark for the future has now become somewhat of a strength because at least a couple of the young guys throwing now seem like they will pan out.

Bullpen while unpredictable is usually cheap.

We will need I think one more Peacock type swing man (maybe that’s Peacock himself or Pruitt) for depth on top of what we have but if Verlander is healthy and Greinke holds up we aren’t in that bad a spot pitching wise. Big if though. I still think if Correa isn’t interested in an extension this offseason you sign Springer and look aggressively to deal Correa for some controllable pitching

Predicting bullpen performance is basically impossible. We need to add from the outside with Osuna gone but who the frick knows honestly. We have bullpen caliber arms in our org that’s for sure
