Well TV I think is a big thing now. All the games are televised so many are not as willing to go.

Recruiting is a mess with AAU and that is the big thing as to why CBB sucks.

Yes that era is gone, but WBB is different, FB is different. It is a good time to be a MSU Fan.

I would bet most players are gone within year 3 of a new coach. Schafer roster was all of his players on year 3.

I have no knowledge of Brooks other than he is basically the recruiter. But maybe you do want to take a look at the shooting coach or whatever.

Is there any reason to fire him at this point?

I think we all wish we were further along but I would think we need to give Howland at least 5 years to either succeed or fail. Right now we are half way to that point. How about giving him an opportunity to succeed?

Agreed much needed. Every SEC Team is in the top 91 of the Ken Pom. And I think there's a chance every team but Vanderbilt makes the NIT or NCAA. And that's because of their losing Record. They are capable of beating anyone in Nashville.

THat's not necessarily a good thing in terms of a program rebuild. Guys of the future like Aric Holman don't see the court as they sit on the bench in favor of upperclassmen

MSU also had a scholarship distribution problem as year 2 ya'll were #329 in minutes continuity despite Q Weatherspoon returning

Very few, if any, college teams in the country can beat a well-implemented zone defense that is conceding the 3PT shot

but Postseason is a must next year.

As a non MSU fan, I'm scared of MSU's potential for next year. If Howland can just get his kids shooting effectively from 3FG, MSU has potential to be dominant with who you bring back

Another good win, this one on the road against a bubble team. We are looking like we are maturing down the stretch

Glad my Basketball melt was meaningless. I think they can be a NIT team.

It wasn't meaningless. You definitely left a solid snowflake impression on everyone. OK, your melt and your fricking stupid obsession with Mullen...

Sad that we have had all the doom and gloom around the Men’s Basketball team.
This team is really not that bad. Two of our losses were blowouts (Cincy and UF) the other games OM, Auburn, UK and Bama, we either led or were very close down the stretch in each game. The team is still learning how to win and now they are starting to jell.
Next game against UGA is important to keep the momentum going and continue to build confidence.

This is a solid team returning everyone next year. Next year is the year.

Hell we have won 3 in a row and offense is starting to gel. The team is maturing and playing with confidence, and in better physical shape. We look good now and can still get a NCAA bid if we keep this up we have a favorable schedule and recent teams we beat have won big games which boost our rpi

Not a NCAA team. But looking forward to the NIT! Finally postseason.

And the door and gloom is because we played a terrible NC schedule and didn't prove anything then and started 2-5 in conference play. Nothing positive until this winning streak. Alabama concerns me. Losing would blow. I wish we would put more emphasis on this game. But whatever.

17-6 5-5 That’s good for a team with no Seniors that starts 2 Freshmen. The SEC is a meat grinder this year, so we’ll probably lose more games. Try not to shite on the coach and team when we do drop a couple..

Well we're on the bubble out but we're on the bubble. Which I'll take. The problem with next two road games are that they're tough. Vanderbilt is good at home, despite how bad they are and Missouri is good and will have a good crowd.

I like our chances against Vanderbilt better. And State can win that one. But hey if they beat Missouri call me floored. I didn't think they'd beat Georgia and Alabama. But Mizzou on the road is a different animal. This is not me being negative, I just think it's a game we won't win. We already at least split Mizzou and that's big. Split Ole Miss, Sweep Vanderbilt, Sweep South Carolina, then we got to find two wins from @ LSU, Tennessee, and @ Texas A&M. That's the tough part to me. I think they can beat LSU but the road is going to be tough. And probably Tennessee is more winnable since it's at home but man that's tough. Kind of like Auburn was.

At this point I still say NIT but hey I'm willing to say NCAA Bubble tonight. 4th in the SEC after being 12th pre Big 12 Challenge???? This team might just not finish in the top 10, but in the top 7. Better have a better crowd against Ole Miss. But the crowd that was there was into it. So thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

If we do that we end the regular season with 23 wins and still have SECT play.

I think we are in with 23 any way we get them. Out with 21-22 and it's understandable but we will still have the right to be pissed off.
