how many think we'll have a somewhat normal season this year?
Posted by stephendomalley on 1/21/21 at 3:45 pm48
just curious. i'm glad we had some games this year, but the football experience fell short in a lot of ways. not having fans and tailgating really sucked a lot of juice out of the fun of football. it was better than nothing, but it wasn't good.
they'll probably have spring practice this year, albeit under strict covid protocols. i can't see how we'll have a normal season next year, which will compound the economic disaster from last year.

Normal. No snow. Temps in the 50s, 40s, 30s. It will get warmer later in the year.

There will be a massive economically-driven push from the networks and conferences to have a closer-to-normal season in the fall of 2021. A lot of athletic departments and even some college towns really can't afford another season like 2020.

I cant imagine stadium being allowed anywhere near capacity. Hopefully a full year into COVID-19 with football will produce less diminished player participation along with vaccines however I am still concerned about what the season may look like if they allow " opt-outs" and no penalty transfers.

These programs can't afford not to.

I don't think normal is coming back anytime soon. It all depends if we can get a hold of this virus and nothing new pops up out of nowhere. I used to think we were heading in the right direction, but I have 5 co-workers suddenly test positive and a couple aren't doing too good!

With a Democrat for governor? LOL
I'll bet the other SEC school allow full capacity or close to full capacity but LSU will allow limited tailgating and if you lucky 10k in the stadium max.

The state is supreme now and everything else is subservient to the state. You’re going to see a lot of things fall apart really fast and being that a lot of our leaders want to tank the economy anyway don’t bet on financial motivations despite what those directly involved would prefer.

Definitely. Covid is essentially over by mid-summer.

This. By July, we'll hit 80% of the population having immunity from vaccine or prior infection. COVID will be a non-issue next fall.

No election year upcoming, so covid and BLM won't be a thing.

If there is leadership and organizational health, you do not see what we witnessed in 2020.
The programs with competent leaders weathered the storm, incompetence and lack of focus leads to what we saw at LSU last year.
Competent leadership is needed at LSU!!

Yeah, just change the cycle thresholds like the WHO did the day after Biden got in office.

The leftists who now control our lives will not let football season to be “normal”.

Vaccines will be fully dispensed (to those who want them) by summer, so the season should be normal.

I mean hopefully the vaccine works and we have enough out by then.
