Louisiana Line Camp

Got my friends Son from Hawaii Marques Hickson (King Kamehameha HS) situated at the La. Line Camp today. Turns out he is a 3rd cousin of Kevin Mawae! The kid was the talk of the camp.
I saw whole lines from Dutchtown HS. And Notre Dame HS walking out of dorms, 623 young men. Crazy to see how much the camp has grown!

Seems like every camp this year is massive compared to years past to make up for COVID year

My son is there also. I also saw Country Day’s entire line group there. Catholic had quite a few kids there.

Kevin Mawae called him out in his speech to kick off camp. The people running the camp never had a Hawaiian at it. His dad ended up talking to every coach. So we are hoping that once they see his skill set and potential he will get some offers.

He is a 6-4, 320 lb Tackle who probably translates to Guard in college. He is a quiet leader with a 3.8 GPA and a great test taker, so ACT wont be a problem. He follows directions to a T and plays to the whistle, perfect for O line. He is extremely strong and athletic for his size. Also played baseball when he was younger. He didnt play pop warner ball so he is still learning, so a little bit raw, but huge upside. Here is his max preps: LINK

Just had lunch with his Mama and Dad. They are going to watch camp and try and get some video. I will post it in the next couple of days.

Get some pictures of him. Send them to recruiting services like rivals & 24/7.
Get him a Twitter too, and use it as a recruiting page. Twitter is a huge recruiting tool. Put his ht/wt & high school in bio.

Damn Lester, that is a good point. That is a solid point. He is fast and strong, but I think he gets a kinda high at times. The right Coach and that is correctable. His Mama U'i met with some folks today. Hopefully an offer is coming.

Lester, I’m not sure why but Marques Hickson hasn’t got any offers, not even Fcs! He has good pass protect skills, pancakes and often gets to the linebacker on runs. Marques HicksonI don’t understand why he hasn’t been offered by anyone.

Marques is playing center for the Polynesian bowl! I think this is a more natural position for him and the best use of his build. Poly bowl practice
